I’m coming off of a lazy weekend where we had so many plans, but in the end scrapped them all and did almost nothing else.
Friday evening consisted of leftovers, a couple glasses of sparkling wine with one of the roommates, and a feature film from 2006. After learning neither my roommate or boyfriend had seen The Guardian when it premiered 11 (?!?) years ago, it became a personal quest to educate them on the Coast Guard and rescue swimmers (plus, who doesn’t love a good Ashton Kutcher film, his charm has only gotten better with age).
It’s gripping, a love story, personal/emotional growth, and you can’t predict the ending right off the bat.
It’s 5/5 stars in my book and I am 3/3 crying happy tears at the end of the film. Rotten Tomatoes may disagree, but I think you should still give it a chance.
If you also need to catch up on the film, check out the trailer here.
The next day I bummed around the house and we eventually made it out to an end of the summer White Party, everyone dresses in white professional/fancy attire. It was a sea of white and I felt as though we’d been transported to Martha’s Vineyard. It was straight out of a Gossip Girl episode.
I wish we’d captured more photos, but this is the only one that I managed to snap.
Sunday, I drove into work and completed a few shift notes and then rounded out the evening with sushi and ice cream.
How did you spend your weekend or what are your plans this upcoming weekend?
